Greenland Should Become Part of the United States, Special Envoy Says
Former U.S. President has appointed Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry as his special envoy on Greenland, emphasizing his determination to take control of the massive Arctic island that belongs to Denmark. This is reported by the FT.
Landry stated that it is an honor for him to undertake this voluntary mission and to 'make Greenland part of the United States,' adding that it will not affect his work as the governor of Louisiana.
Greenland's Prime Minister Jens Frederik Nielsen has announced that Landry's appointment will change nothing for the island. 'We are the ones who decide our future. Greenland is our country,' he said.
