New Details in the Murder Case of a 3-Year-Old Child in Tsapatagh: Preliminary Investigation Completed

The preliminary investigation into the murder of a 3-year-old child in Tsapatagh has been completed at the Gegharkunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

During the preliminary investigation, concrete evidence was gathered indicating that T.O.'s father, motivated by revenge, intentionally took the life of his defenseless minor child on October 27, 2025, by strangling him in a field area adjacent to the Tsapatagh community. After concealing the body in various locations, he transported it to a field near the junction leading to the village of Jil in the Chambarak community, where on November 2, 2025, the body was discovered during search and rescue operations.

An external examination of the body was conducted, revealing physical injuries to the head area of T.O.'s body. According to the conclusion of the forensic examination, the death of the 3-year-old child was due to mechanical asphyxiation caused by the compression of the neck organs with blunt objects.

A public criminal prosecution has been initiated against A.O. under the articles 155, part 2, points 3, 5, and 9 of the Criminal Code (the murder of a defenseless minor by a close relative). As a measure of restraint, he has been taken into custody. The criminal proceedings have been sent to the supervising prosecutor for confirmation and with a recommendation for consideration by the court.
