Diapers for children are 2-3 times cheaper in neighboring countries. How will people have more children in Armenia? This was stated by MP Garnik Danielyan during an extraordinary session of parliament.

According to him, he has suggested several times to the Ministry of Health that the state should cover the expenses of families facing challenges in having children. They claimed that it is a good proposal, but no steps have been taken in that direction.

“There are families that wish to have children but cannot because they lack the funds for artificial insemination. The state should make this free, and we must not skimp on money for birth rates,” Danielyan emphasized.

Touching on the prices of diapers and hygiene products, Danielyan pointed out that there is a price disparity between Armenia and neighboring Georgia. “I receive letters stating that diapers for children are 2-3 times cheaper in neighboring countries. We must do everything to ensure that, despite price increases, people are interested in having children. The issue of the prices of essential hygiene products must be addressed,” he concluded.
