Pensioners and Beneficiaries Will Be Able to Receive a Refund of Up to 10,000 Drams Starting January
Starting January 1, 2026, pensioners and beneficiaries will receive a refund of up to 20% for non-cash transactions, replacing the current 12%. As a result, pensioners and beneficiaries will be able to increase their pensions or benefits by up to 10,000 drams instead of the existing 6,000 drams. This information was provided by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia.
As of November, 366,432 citizens are benefiting from this program. Since its launch, approximately 327 billion drams have been processed in non-cash transactions with pension cards, and around 30 billion drams have been returned to beneficiaries in the form of refunds.
It is important to note that starting April 1, 2026, all state benefits, including pensions and childbirth-related allowances, will be paid in a non-cash manner. Currently, less than 10% of pensioners and beneficiaries receive their pensions or benefits in cash, around 58,000 individuals, who will also have the opportunity to benefit from the refund program starting April 1 by receiving their pensions or benefits non-cash.
