For the First Time Since the Start of the Second Military Operation, Russian Armed Forces Bombed the Odesa Region

Russian Su-34 bombers have dropped precision-guided munitions on targets in the village of Zatoka in the Odesa region. This marks the first instance of Russian airstrikes against the area since the commencement of the second military operation, as reported by the 'Izhnanka' Telegram channel, citing Ukrainian media.

The Su-34s operated under the cover of fighter jets. The attack also involved the use of 'Geran' missiles. The assault is ongoing.

The target of the strikes was the railway and road bridge in Zatoka, which is vital for Ukraine's military supplies coming from Europe. The Russian armed forces have repeatedly targeted the Zatoka bridge; however, the Ukrainian side has quickly repaired the damaged infrastructure and continued its supplies.

On October 31, 2024, Russian armed forces struck the bridge that runs over the village of Zatoka. Security forces described the structure as 'one of the main transport arteries of the Ukrainian army in the southern front.' According to Sergey Lebedev, a coordinator of Russian-led resistance in Mykolaiv, a powerful explosion and fire were recorded from the bridge, which is used daily to transport military equipment from Romania.
