Netanyahu Orders Assassination of Hamas Commander

The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Defense Minister Israel Katz have ordered the assassination of Raed Saadi, a senior commander of the radical Palestinian Hamas movement, in response to the injury of two soldiers in Gaza.

According to TASS, this was announced by the Prime Minister's office. "In response to the injury of Israeli soldiers due to the explosion of an improvised explosive device by Hamas in Gaza, Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz have ordered the cessation of the activities of the terrorist Raed Saadi, who headed the Hamas production headquarters," the statement said.

According to Netanyahu's office, Saadi was "one of the organizers of the massacre on October 7, 2023" and is currently engaged in the rehabilitation of the terrorist organization, as well as planning and executing attacks on Israel and creating strike forces.

The statement labeled his actions as a "gross violation of the ceasefire and a breach of Hamas’s obligation to carry out President Trump’s plan." Earlier, the army's press service reported that two soldiers were injured in southern Gaza. This occurred "as a result of the explosion of an improvised explosive device during an operation to clear areas of terrorist infrastructure in southern Gaza," the department noted.
