US Military Seizes Cargo En Route from China to Iran

The US military has launched an attack on a vessel and seized cargo en route from China to Iran, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The incident reportedly took place in November. American officials consider the action a "rare" measure to prevent maritime smuggling aimed at disrupting Tehran's ability to bolster its military arsenal.

The ship was detained several hundred miles off the coast of Sri Lanka, after which the cargo was confiscated.
