Mother of Tigran's Siblings Killed in Tsapatagh Won't Be Reunited with Them Yet: Details
The siblings of 3-year-old Tigran, who was killed by his father in Tsapatagh, continue to remain at the Children’s Support Center of the Fund for Armenian Relief (FAR) during an intensive rehabilitation phase. This was stated by Mira Antonyan, director of the center, in an interview with NEWS.am on December 9.
“The children are still adjusting and adapting to the new environment. Some have cognitive issues, while others have mental health challenges and are receiving treatment,” Antonyan noted.
When asked whether the mother visits the children, the center director responded positively: “Yes, visitation is not prohibited, as we have no directive to block visits. She comes when it is convenient for her, when she is able to.”
Regarding the possibility of returning the children to their mother, Mira Antonyan mentioned that it is still too early to discuss this, as there are lengthy processes before any decisions can be made. “The children still need to go through these processes and complete them. Then we will advise decision-makers on what we think about their suitability with the mother—whether it is appropriate or not, and if not, why. Based on this, the relevant authorities will make their decision,” concluded the director of the FAR Children’s Support Center.
Recall that on October 27, 2025, the operational management center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs received a report that Tigran Ovanesov, born in 2022, had gone missing in the village of Tsapatagh in the Gegharkunik region. After a week of search efforts, the child's body was found in a field between the village. The father confessed to killing the boy. A criminal case was initiated on charges of murder, and the child’s father was arrested.
