Rubén Rubinyan on the Church Split

Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Rubén Rubinyan has made a post on his Facebook page, expressing his views on when the beginning of the church split was set: "The beginning of the church split was established at the moment when Ktrich Nersisyan chose Kocharian over the people. Then, when he started sending clergy to the rallies of the Russian businessman, as Gevorg the Bishop reported a few days ago. But our people do not want their church to be Kocharian's headquarters, and the bishops to be a mere headcount at the meeting of the Russian businessman. And for this reason, Ktrich Nersisyan must go. Because Kocharian and the Russian are not all Armenians, and therefore he cannot be the Catholicos of all Armenians. He can be the Catholicos of Kocharian's circle and the Russian businessmen, but not of all Armenians. And instead, a Catholicos of the Khachaturian Party or a Catholicos loving the Khachaturian Party should not come. A Catholicos who will unite everyone should come - a Catholicos of all Armenians who will unite all," wrote Rubinyan.
