Kiranț is One of the Safest Villages in Armenia: Nikol Pashinyan

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the village of Kiranț in the Tavush province with a group of about 50 citizens. The first stop was at the demarcated section of Kiranț, located at the state border between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, where the completed works were presented.

Nikol Pashinyan stated that the purpose of today’s visit is to showcase the concept of ensuring Armenia’s security that the Government of Armenia adheres to. The Prime Minister emphasized that the country’s security cannot be guaranteed solely by the military; the tools for ensuring security must be diverse, and the Kiranț wall is one of those tools.

“This is an additional concept for ensuring security and reflects our vision of a peace agenda. I firmly state that Kiranț is one of the safest villages in Armenia,” said the country’s leader, adding that contrary to predictions that Kiranț would become deserted, 54 new houses are currently being built as part of a 16 million program. Before the demarcation, the village had 90 households.

Nikol Pashinyan also emphasized the importance of the demarcation process from a governance perspective and highlighted that one of its key features is knowing your area of responsibility.

Following that, the group members visited the newly built main school named after G. Vardanyan in Kiranț and were familiarized with the conditions created in the school, which has been operational for a year. The Government allocated 737 million drams for the project. The school is designed for 100 children and includes a kindergarten for 20 children.

Nikol Pashinyan and the citizens also visited the Holy Trinity Church in Kiranț, for which 55 million drams have been allocated from the state budget for restoration works. The restoration is currently in its final stages.

Under confidentiality conditions, citizens were also introduced to the recently acquired weaponry and technology, as well as engineering innovations.
