I now know where the Republic of Armenia begins and ends, says Nikol Pashinyan
During a visit to Kiarants with a group of citizens, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that it has been a year since classes were held, and not only related to schools, but there have been no incidents in Kiarants.
"This wall is a tool for ensuring our security," stated the Prime Minister while showing the Kiarants wall, which demarcates the Armenia-Azerbaijan area. He emphasized that after the demarcation, the border forces of Armenia and Azerbaijan exited their trenches, removed helmets and body armor in the second phase, and agreed that magazine clips should not be placed on rifles in the third phase.
"This is an additional concept for ensuring security and our vision of a peace agenda, and I stand here without any fears. We could have chosen not to build this wall; however, the population at that time received it sharply, they perceived it sharply. Nonetheless, symbolically, the wall is very important because when we say to recognize the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia, I now know where the Republic of Armenia begins and where it ends. And I know that at this wall, my powers end," the Prime Minister noted.
He stated that they recognized the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, but they did so in order for themselves to recognize the territorial integrity of their own country.
“Now already, goods are coming through the railway from Azerbaijan to Armenia; soon, other goods will arrive, leaving from Armenia. Kiarants is a peaceful village. Kiarants has grown by 50% since the demarcation,” added the Prime Minister.
