Universal health insurance is an opportunity to reduce poverty, says Batoyan
The system of universal health insurance is very important not only in financial terms but also in quality of life. It is essential that we change our culture of caring for our health. The implementation of this system can significantly reduce poverty in the country; this is not just my opinion, but experts point it out as well.
This was stated today by MP Zaruhie Batoyan from the 'Civil Contract' faction during a session of the National Assembly.
'Health insurance can have the most significant impact in this area, and it is no secret that especially in the case of the elderly, people with disabilities, or vulnerable groups, a substantial part of their family or personal budget is allocated to healthcare services. I believe this is a significant change, and in this sense, I emphasize that this is a very important advancement in the social sector. Not to mention that when citizens unexpectedly encounter health issues, it puts them in front of serious problems immediately. Even for citizens earning an average salary, this can lead to poverty or serious social issues,' the MP remarked.
