Drugs Discovered in the Body of a Visitor to a Convict
During the investigation of a criminal case conducted by the Investigative Committee of Armenia's Lori Regional Investigative Department, it was revealed that on October 27, 2025, a package wrapped in adhesive tape containing a substance resembling drugs was found in the body of A.D., who paid a brief visit to convict A.A. in a penitentiary.
A public criminal prosecution has been initiated against A.D. under points 3 and 5 of part 2 of Article 393 of the Criminal Code (for the illegal circulation of narcotics, psychotropic substances, their preparations, or equivalent substances (analogs) or their derivatives in places where arrested or imprisoned individuals are held or in penitentiaries, with the intent to realize or for the illegal realization of these substances).
Meanwhile, A.A. is facing charges under part 2 of Article 44-396 (attempt to illegally circulate narcotics, psychotropic substances, their preparations, or equivalent substances (analogs) or their derivatives or precursors, without the intent to realize).
As a preventive measure, A.D. has been placed in custody. The criminal case has been sent to the supervising prosecutor for an accusatory conclusion.
