Netherlands to Allocate €250 Million to Ukraine for Air Defense
The Netherlands will allocate €250 million to Ukraine for air defense equipment and ammunition intended for F-16 fighter jets through the U.S.-funded PURL initiative. This was announced today by Defense Minister Ruben Brinkman.
“Ukraine urgently needs additional military support. The Netherlands is again allocating €250 million for air defense supplies, munitions for F-16 fighter jets, and other supplies from U.S. PURL stocks,” Brinkman wrote in his letter.
The PURL initiative, created by the U.S. and NATO, does not anticipate direct military assistance from the U.S. to Ukraine. It assumes that European countries will purchase American weapons for Kyiv.
