German Authorities Remove the Issue of Sending Troops to Ukraine from Agenda
German authorities have removed the issue of sending troops to Ukraine from their agenda. This was reported by the Bild agency. In the agency’s publication, it is noted that Berlin does not believe in a quick meeting between Russian President Putin and Ukrainian leader Zelensky, and therefore fears sending troops, hoping instead that financial aid will be more effective.
There is also no clarity on what kind of security guarantees Trump could provide.
“Nevertheless, even if an agreement is reached between Ukraine and Russia, the government prefers to provide guarantees mainly in the form of money rather than troops,” the agency writes.
