Orbán Tasted Traditional Russian Dishes in Moscow

According to "RIA Novosti," after negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán dined at the "Zhivago" restaurant located opposite the Kremlin. The restaurant is situated at the corner of Mokhovaya and Tverskaya streets, within the National Hotel building.

Representatives of the restaurant stated that Orbán tried red caviar pancakes, pig fat (salo) cooked with meat that had been boiled in onion peel, pickled vegetables, Siberian pelmeni filled with beef, pork, rabbit meat, onions, butter, and black pepper, as well as Moscow borscht.

It was noted that the restaurant was not closed for special service during the visit, despite Orbán being accompanied by a large delegation. Guests recognized him and took photos with him.

Putin and Orbán met on Friday, with negotiations lasting about four hours in the Kremlin. Before traveling to Moscow, the Hungarian Prime Minister stated that the purpose of the visit was to continue ensuring the country's energy supplies through gas and oil deliveries from Russia, emphasizing that these supplies have provided the lowest prices in Europe for Hungary.

During the meeting, Putin assessed cooperation in the energy sector as "very good." He also noted that a decline in trade turnover was recorded in 2024 due to external restrictions, but a growth of about 7% in mutual trade is expected in 2025.
