New Charges Filed Against Father in the Murder Case of 3-Year-Old Tigran
The Investigative Committee has announced that the man accused of murdering 3-year-old Tigran in Tsapatagh, who is the child's father, has been charged with physical coercion as well. This information was reported by Aysor.am.
According to the committee, the criminal proceedings initiated based on these characteristics have been joined with the proceedings regarding the child's murder case. Relevant examinations have been appointed, but their conclusions have not yet been received.
Earlier reports indicated that traces of violence had been discovered on the face of the deceased Tigran's brother on the day of the incident. The Investigative Committee has confirmed that the proceedings initiated based on physical coercion pertain to this case.
It is recalled that Tigran Ovanesov, a resident of Tsapatagh village in the Gegharkunik region, born in 2022, went missing on October 27. The child's body was found on November 2, about 60 meters from the sign indicating the village of Jil, in a field area.
On November 3, Armenia's Minister of Internal Affairs, Arpine Sargsyan, stated that preliminary findings suggest that 3-year-old Tigran was strangled by his father, Armen Ovanesov. It later became known that public criminal charges had been filed against Armen Ovanesov for murder, and following a court order, he was arrested for two months.
