The Government Deliberately Disrupts Work in the Commission: MP
The issue of electing a vice president for the Commission is being thwarted for various reasons, which prevents the Armenian National Assembly's Defense and Security Committee from bringing significant issues to the agenda, said Tigran Abrahamyan, an MP from the 'I Have Honor' faction, during a conversation with journalists.
He referred to the repeated failure to elect opposition candidate Arthur Ghazinyan as the vice president of the Defense and Security Committee for the fourth time by representatives of the ruling majority. 'There are priorities that have been formulated and presented during this period. These relate to border issues, the progress of armed forces reforms, and the situation on the Goris-Kapan interstate road, all of which have not been brought to the agenda in any way,' Abrahamyan said.
He deemed it inappropriate to continuously delay the election of the vice president of the committee alongside such critical issues.
'This shows that the government is deliberately undermining the work of the Commission,' Tigran Abrahamyan added.
