Valves Will Be Installed on Fountains
The head of the Armenian Prime Minister's office, Eduard Aghajanyan, has announced the initiation of a pilot program with the "Veolia Water" company.
In a statement on his Facebook page, he specifically noted: "The issue of drinking water is becoming increasingly urgent worldwide. Fortunately, the Republic of Armenia has a significant drinking water resource, the value of which we often fail to appreciate. Due to the current use of fountains, we are losing approximately 4.3 million cubic meters (=4.3 million tons) of drinking water annually.
Today, we agreed with our partners from the 'Veolia Water' organization to implement a pilot program aimed at minimizing water loss from existing fountains through the installation of the valve system depicted in the image below.
According to the preliminary agreement, the pilot program will include a hundred fountains operating in Yerevan."
