Ukraine Faces A Difficult Choice: Zelensky Addresses The Nation
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has addressed the people of Ukraine, stating: “We are currently living through one of the most difficult moments in our history. The pressure on Ukraine is at its peak. Ukraine may stand before a very difficult choice—loss of dignity or a threat to its main partner. Either the difficult 28 points, or an extremely hard winter, the hardest, along with the risks that follow. A life without freedom, dignity, and justice, and for us to trust those who have already attacked twice,” Zelensky noted.
Zelensky emphasized that the pressure on Ukraine is currently among the strongest. “They expect an answer from us, but I gave it on May 20, 2019, when I stated that I am committed to defending Ukraine's sovereignty and independence. We are, of course, made of steel, but even the strongest metal can eventually bend. We must unite, awaken, stop the disputes, and political games. The state must act, the parliament of a warring country must work together, and the government of a warring country must operate effectively,” he said in his address to the nation.
