Prime Minister Forecasts Changes in Political Landscape by 2026
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is confident that following the parliamentary elections in 2026, all figures who, in his assessment, have led the Republic of Armenia into a "trap" and have kept it in that situation for a long time will be ousted from the political spectrum.
"The 2026 parliamentary elections should manifest the following: all representatives of the preceding political elite who have guided and led Armenia into a trap and have kept it trapped should be removed as a result of those elections and have no place in the political arena anymore. This is my opinion, and I am confident that this is how it should happen," said the Prime Minister.
According to him, "I interact with people, and they are already fed up with the debates and discussions of the 'former-present' dichotomy."
Addressing political discourse, Pashinyan remarked that it is necessary to abandon this mindset and establish norms for normal political processes in Armenia, emphasizing, "Where swearing has no place at all, much less in the content of political discussions." He also referred to his own application of such approaches, noting, "This is why I go on Sundays, kneel before the altar, and ask for forgiveness for my sins."
