A High Alert Signal for Our Future: Erdoğan on the Family Model
The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, addressed the social policy directions during a symposium dedicated to family, culture, and arts held at Beştepe. According to him, the government will continue to take measures that, according to authorities, are aimed at preserving societal values and limiting the spread of various gender ideologies.
Erdoğan noted that the relevant measures pertain to approaches that Turkey considers to be influenced by external factors and should not be freely spread in the public environment. He emphasized that the authorities do not plan to relax control in these areas.
In his speech, the president also touched upon the country's demographic situation, emphasizing that declining birth rates are viewed as a long-term challenge. He stated that the government intends to increase financial support for newly established families. Erdoğan announced that starting next year, the state will provide substantial assistance to young couples getting married, as well as enhance payments given at the birth of a child.
