Erdogan-Pashinyan Meeting Dominates Turkish Media Headlines: What Are They Saying?

Turkish media outlets report that the meeting between the leaders of Armenia and Turkey was historic, as such a gathering had not occurred in 13 years.

Notably, pro-government sources frame the meeting within the context of so-called peace negotiations, referring to Erdogan as a leader for peace in the region.

The pro-government newspaper 'Aksam' interprets the meeting as 'Erdogan’s meeting with Aliyev and Pashinyan, who has been delaying the signing of a peace treaty for two years.'

In the context of regional peace, the newspapers also quote Erdogan as saying that he might 'one day meet with Syrian President Assad.'

It is reported that Pashinyan and Erdogan expressed a positive stance on continuing bilateral negotiations either in Yerevan or Ankara.
