Romanos Petrosyan's Term Has Ended: What to Expect at HЕЦ

The newspaper «Zhoghovurd» reports, "Yesterday, the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) officially announced that Romanos Petrosyan will continue to fulfill his duties as the temporary manager of HЕЦ until the state makes a decision within the next three months regarding the direction in which they will move forward. The fact is that today, November 18, marks the end of the four-month term for which Romanos Petrosyan was appointed as the manager of the 'Armenian Electric Networks.'

According to the law on 'Energy,' in case of revocation of the license, the temporary manager continues to operate until a new license is granted.

"Sources close to the government have informed the newspaper that Nikol Pashinyan has urged Petrosyan not to leave HЕЦ until new buyers are found through negotiations. Meanwhile, HЕЦ has effectively lost its license the day before, and the situation demands continuous management. Until the Cabinet negotiates with potential buyers, and a decision is made regarding who will acquire the company, Petrosyan will continue to lead the process. This may last three months, and if the government quickly 'finds' a buyer, a new manager may be appointed sooner. However, Petrosyan must oversee the ongoing processes around HЕЦ until the very end and only depart once that is concluded.

The preparation phase for obtaining a new license and negotiations with buyers must also be conducted by Romanos Petrosyan. Only after that phase will his departure be discussed.

In a telephone conversation with the newspaper, Romanos Petrosyan stated that he intends to continue his work at HЕЦ.
