US Envoy: Tehran's Uranium Enrichment is Unacceptable
The United States is prepared to engage in negotiations with Iran regarding Tehran's nuclear program, provided that the Islamic Republic is willing to enter into direct dialogue. This was stated by US Special Representative for Middle East Affairs, Morgan Ortagus.
“The United States remains ready to conduct negotiations, but only if Tehran is open to direct and meaningful dialogue,” she said during a UN Security Council meeting.
Ortagus also emphasized that the US does not intend to negotiate in a public format. She highlighted that Washington continues to uphold its position that Iran’s uranium enrichment is unacceptable.
It has been reported that the five rounds of negotiations on the nuclear issue between Iran and the US, facilitated by Oman, ended without results due to the initiation of military operations against the Islamic Republic by Israel and attacks by US forces on Iranian nuclear facilities.
