Zelensky on Purchasing Gas from Azerbaijan

Ukraine is intensifying efforts to import natural gas from Azerbaijan. President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that Kyiv is working on various avenues to ensure energy stability for the upcoming winter.

"We are creating broad opportunities for winter supplies. In particular, through our Polish partners, we are actively working with Azerbaijan," wrote Zelensky in a social media post.

Ukraine aims to diversify its sources of gas imports to eliminate maximum dependence on Russian energy supplies. Azerbaijan has been expanding its gas export volumes to Europe in recent years, which could become a strategic alternative for Kyiv.
