Ilham Aliyev's Message to Palestine

The peoples of Azerbaijan and Palestine are united by ties of friendship and brotherhood. As reported by APA, this is stated in a congratulatory letter from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Mahmoud Abbas, the President of the State of Palestine.

Aliyev mentioned that Azerbaijan has consistently shown solidarity on the Palestinian issue and supports the creation of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the principles of two states in accordance with relevant UN resolutions and decisions.

He also expressed hope that the outcomes of the Middle East peace summit held in Sharm El Sheikh would contribute to regional peace, stability, and security.
