I Do Not Respect Him, But He Built the Black Fortress: Vardan Ghukasian

I do not respect Samvel Balasanyan, but he built the Black Fortress: this was stated by the Mayor of Gyumri, Vardan Ghukasian, in a conversation with journalists regarding whether it should be returned to the community since the authorities had announced that it was illegally privatized.

“The truth must be told; he constructed the ruined fortress. He just privatized the green areas in front of it, but he bought the building from a private owner; I know this for sure. I do not accept him, I do not respect him because of what he has done to me. But what is true is true: there is no such structure that he has built in the Republic. The constructions built in the green areas are another matter,” the official added.
