Turkish Party Proposes Inquiry on Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant to Parliament

Deniz Yavuzyılmaz, a member of Turkey's opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), has announced that an inquiry proposal has been submitted to the parliament on behalf of the party, signed by 40 representatives, to investigate the dangers posed by the Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant located in Armenia, as reported by ermenihaber.

During a press conference held in the parliament, Yavuzyılmaz pointed out that the Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant is situated just 16 kilometers from Iğdır, and its safety is of vital importance for Turkey and neighboring countries.

“To understand what devastating consequences the Metsamor issue may have on our country and neighboring countries, and to draw the attention of the international community to the issue, we have submitted a parliamentary inquiry proposal on behalf of the CHP, signed by 40 representatives,” Yavuzyılmaz stated.
