Service Term for Officers in Azerbaijan to be Reduced

In Azerbaijan, the active military service term for officers during peacetime may be reduced by six months, according to Report.

The parliamentary committee on defense, security, and the fight against corruption has discussed a bill on amendments to the laws on "Establishing Regulations on Military Service" and "Military Duty and Military Service." According to the changes, the active military service term for officers drafted from the reserve or voluntarily enlisted on a contractual basis during peacetime will be shortened by six months to one year.

The initiative aims to improve the conditions of military service and enhance the motivation of officers.
