Russia Launches Largest Attack Against Ukraine
Ukrainian authorities have reported civilian casualties in Kyiv, Lviv, Dnipro, Kharkiv, and Odesa after Russia launched drone and missile strikes targeting various regions of Ukraine during the night of December 29. This is reported by kyivindependent.com.
This attack by the Russian side is the largest in recent months. In Kyiv, at least 7 people were injured, many residential buildings were damaged, and an explosion occurred at a metro station during the wave of drone and missile strikes in the morning. Three people have been found under the rubble of a warehouse damaged by missile fragments in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the city, reported Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
In Lviv, one person has died, and three have been reported injured, according to Governor Maksym Kozytskyi. Later, Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi reported that the number of injured had reached eight. In Dnipro, one person was killed, Mayor Boris Filatov stated. The attack also damaged a shopping center and a maternity hospital.
Kharkiv was struck 20 times, resulting in the death of a man around 35 years old and at least 11 injuries, according to Kharkiv Governor Oleg Synehubov. He added that the attacks damaged buildings, including a medical facility and warehouses.
Russia targeted two residential buildings in Odesa, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuring 15 others, including two minors, reported Governor Oleg Kiper.
