Newborn Death Case at a Medical Center in Yerevan: Criminal Proceedings Launched

A criminal case has been initiated regarding the death of a newborn at one of Yerevan's medical centers.

The Investigative Committee reports that the case was opened on grounds of a healthcare worker failing to perform their professional duties or performing them improperly.

According to information from Armlur.am, a 27-year-old pregnant woman was admitted to the "Astghik" medical center's maternity ward around 3:00 AM due to labor pains. Hours later, the doctors announced that the newborn had died.

The relatives of the newborn accuse the doctors of negligence and have turned to law enforcement authorities.
