I Don't Watch Fake Media: Vladimir Karapetian on His Scandalous Conversation with Echo of Moscow Journalist

Reports are circulating online that Vladimir Karapetian, the former spokesman for Nikol Pashinyan, met with Irina Babloyan, a correspondent for Echo of Moscow, at a café in Yerevan today.

During their scandalous conversation, Karapetian discussed his interactions with the Azerbaijani ambassador. "I told the Azerbaijani ambassador, 'What you wanted, we gave you, now it’s your turn to help us,'" said Karapetian.

He noted that Pashinyan's main problem now is the inability to return prisoners, which has turned into a serious tool for the opposition. "I told the Azerbaijani ambassador that the return of prisoners should be presented not as a result of Russian mediation, but rather as the outcome of Pashinyan’s work. If you are truly interested in establishing direct communication between Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Turkey—without Russian mediation—then the first step must be the return of the prisoners. I suggested that at least five should be given in this format at this stage, but those 'heads' aren’t moving from their place," Karapetian stated.

Karapetian asked the journalist which media outlets were on the same flight with him, to which she responded with "Kommersant" and "Dozhd." When asked by AuroraNews whether he had seen the press publications about himself, Karapetian said, "I don’t watch fake media." In response to a comment about a published photo, he replied, "I have already said that."
