Large Business Representatives Attempt to Convince Trump to Lower Tariffs
Executives from major Swiss companies, including representatives of the Rolex and Cartier brands, have met with U.S. President Donald Trump in an effort to reduce the 39% tariff imposed on Swiss imports, reports Tribune de Genève.
According to the source, the Swiss business delegation made a special visit to Washington to negotiate directly with Trump. However, the meeting held in the Oval Office did not yield the expected results, as no concrete decision was made regarding the reduction of tariffs.
According to Bloomberg, several other Swiss companies are also interested in a swift resolution to the issue and are considering direct negotiations with U.S. authorities to avoid the negative consequences of high tariffs in the market.
