Konjoryan: The Issue of Artsakh Was a Burden on Armenia's Neck
No one has said that Artsakh was a burden; it has been stated that the issue of Artsakh was a burden on Armenia's neck, and these are two very different things. This was stated by Hayk Konjoryan, the leader of the 'Civil Contract' faction in the National Assembly.
'One of the key actors in turning the Artsakh issue into a burden was Robert Kocharyan, from whom the prosecution's claim under the law on 'Seizure of Illegal Property' is approximately as much as the state is currently borrowing to address the housing issues of displaced persons from Artsakh. The state is borrowing $250 million to resolve the housing issues for those displaced from Artsakh, while the confirmed claim against Kocharyan regarding illegal property amounts to $200 million. Kocharyan, who was forcibly displaced from Artsakh but became a dollar multi-millionaire here,' said Konjoryan.
