«They Are Doing Well, They Are Doing Right»: Alen Simonian on Police Brutality
The President of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonian, stated that the authorities, and the police are doing the right thing by using brute force against protesters.
“They are doing well, they are doing right,” he said in an interview with Petros Ghazaryan.
Simonian mentioned that they are the most democratic government in the modern history of Armenia. “This is confirmed by all international organizations. Moreover, there is the right to free expression in Armenia, but the law and the steel mandate must be respected. There is the right to free expression. We are not doing March 1 again, but the law must be upheld. After all, our voters have always told us that the steel mandate should be used,” Simonian said.
