Israeli Army Halts Use of Chinese Cars Due to Espionage Risks
The Israeli Ministry of Defense and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have begun to phase out the use of Chinese-made service vehicles due to security concerns. Official sources indicate that experts are worried that the built-in cameras and communication systems in these vehicles may collect and transmit data to Chinese servers.
As a result of this decision, hundreds of vehicles are set to be removed from service, primarily seven-seat CHERY models that were allocated to officers with families. Access to military bases with Chinese cars is now prohibited, and a complete cessation of their use is expected by the beginning of 2026.
The Israeli military emphasizes that this measure is preventive and aims to protect national security from potential technological threats. Experts believe that similar restrictions could also extend to other state institutions.
