Erdogan Targets Armenia and the Armenian People in His Speech
Today, on October 22, the Turkic Council's media forum has started in Istanbul under the motto "Rooted Past, Strong Future." According to Akunq.net, Erdogan stated in his message: "In our time, alongside the spread of social media, both humanity and we are often subjected to misinformation. As a result of false and fake news, the lives of millions of defenseless people are wrecked worldwide; they experience severe traumas and dramas."
It is noteworthy that in Erdogan's message, the only mentioned specific examples are Armenia and the Armenian people. Referring to the recent war in Artsakh, he particularly noted: "No country or society is immune from the destructive influence of digital fascism. During the 44-day war in Nagorno-Karabakh, we witnessed a dual behavior that highlighted the importance of this issue for our country. The massacres targeting the civilian population by the Armenian army and the ballistic missile attacks were completely removed from the agenda. International media organizations that talk about media independence and objectivity acted similarly to Armenia's official news agency."
The war in Karabakh is not the only example of a media embargo applied against facts concerning our countries and the Turkic world. In light of our painful experiences, we can now clearly see the following truth: just as we do not rely on foreigners in industrial and military matters, we cannot trust others in communication issues either. As the Turkic world, we must take the initiative in this regard, exchange experiences, combine our strengths, and seek ways to use our available opportunities most effectively."
Thus, Erdogan outlined the main course of the Turkic Council's media forum, which will continue for the next two days. Erdogan's expectations of forming a pan-Turkic army through this forum are also apparent.
It should be noted that the Turkic Council is an international organization uniting Turkic-speaking countries, which includes Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkey. Remarkably, this organization was founded in 2009 in Nakhchivan. Hungary is also participating in the forum with an observer status. It is expected that Turkmenistan and the self-proclaimed "Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus" will also join the organization in the future.
