How Displaced Persons from Artsakh Can Obtain Armenian Citizenship
The Migration and Citizenship Service informs that displaced persons from Artsakh can submit applications for obtaining Armenian citizenship from Monday to Friday. In Yerevan, applications can be submitted at the MKTS subdivision located at Zakyan 3. In other regions, applications can be filed in all subdivisions, at the Ministry of Internal Affairs service offices, and in mobile formats at the main office of the service.
What documents are necessary to obtain Armenian citizenship? To obtain Armenian citizenship, the following documents must be submitted:
- Application questionnaire
- Valid passport with the code "070" and temporary protection certificate
- Six color photos (35 x 45 mm)
- Birth certificate and a copy of it
- Marriage (divorce) certificate, a copy of it, and a copy of the spouse's passport (if a name change occurred due to marriage)
- Document related to changes in personal data (if the person has made such changes)
- Document proving payment of the state fee
For minors under 18 years of age, Armenian citizenship is granted through a simplified registration process (within 5 working days). It is noteworthy that from September 1, 2025, displaced persons who have received temporary protection will be exempt from state fee payments due to amendments made in the Armenian law on state fees dated January 22, 2025.
