Why Marutyan Made His Children Citizens of the Czech Republic

Hayk Marutyan has four children—two boys and two girls. His children are citizens of the Czech Republic. Recently, Marutyan not only confirmed this fact but also stated that if his sons grow up and wish to serve in the Armenian army, they will be able to do so. This information was reported by the newspaper ‘Zhoghovurd’.

The outlet claims that a person who promotes patriotism and humanity has instilled in his children a love for other homelands and made them Czech citizens to avoid military service. Thousands of parents have been left childless since 2020, and no one has inquired whether they wish to serve in the Armenian army or not. Military service is mandatory in our country, and all are equal before the law. It is perhaps to evade this service that Hayk Marutyan has made his sons citizens of the Czech Republic.
