We Are Ready to Support Armenia in the EU Membership Process Says European Parliament Vice-President

The European Parliament is ready to assist Armenia in the process of joining the European Union. This was stated by the Vice-President of the European Parliament, Yunus Omarschi, during the 12th plenary session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly held in Yerevan.

According to him, Armenia's recent decisions demonstrate the country's clear choice towards the European family. “The decisions made by Armenia, especially the ones adopted recently, are extremely important. Armenia has passed a historic law that sends a clear and powerful message, declaring that it sees its future as part of Europe. This is not just a symbolic gesture; it is a strategic choice to join the family of European democracy. The European Parliament is ready to support Armenia on this historic path if you decide to officially submit your candidacy for EU membership,” Omarschi stated.

In March 2025, the Armenian Parliament adopted a law to initiate the process of joining the European Union.
