Simonyan: This Impeachment Was Clearly a Fabricated Process
In today’s session, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, labeled the impeachment process initiated by the opposition as a "political operation."
“Everything must have limits and boundaries. This impeachment was clearly a fabricated process. It was evident that its aim was political exploitation, not principledness,” he stated.
Simonyan noted that the opposition displays “zero effectiveness” under conditions of lacking state levers: “You have proved that without state resources, you have zero influence. When you have no state levers, you deliver no results. That’s why you are not elected, and that’s why you don’t gather votes.”
Speaking about previous administrations, Simonyan stated that Robert Kocharyan, Serzh Sargsyan, and the ARF were essentially supporting the 2018 revolution out of self-interest: “Yes, Robert Kocharyan, the ARF, and certain representatives of the Republican Party did everything to support the revolution. This is a fact, and this debate should be concluded. You are representatives of the same system that shot at people and threw them into jail.”
