Russia Sees No Significant Obstacles for Trump-Putin Meeting
Russia sees no significant obstacles to a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump, although it acknowledges that the process is not easy. This was stated by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov to reporters.
“I do not see any significant obstacles. The question is that the parameters and outlines established by the presidents in Anchorage need to gain specificity. We must admit that this is a complex process. But diplomats are precisely there to deal with these issues,” he said.
The deputy foreign minister also noted that preparations for the summit are ongoing. According to Ryabkov, there is still no agreement on a meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Budapest.
It is worth mentioning that on October 16, a phone conversation took place between Putin and Trump, which was one of the longest since the beginning of 2025. The parties discussed the situation surrounding Ukraine. After the phone talks, Trump announced his intention to hold a personal meeting with Putin in Budapest.
