US Expects Territorial Concessions from Ukraine

US President Donald Trump has stated in an interview with Fox News that he expects territorial concessions from Ukraine as part of any peace agreement his administration may negotiate between Kyiv and Moscow, aimed at ending the nearly four-year war between Russia and Ukraine.

In the interview with Maria Bartiromo, the President indicated that under the terms of any deal drafted by the White House, Russia would likely be allowed to retain the territory it has occupied since February 2022.

On Thursday, Trump had a two-hour phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, followed the next day by a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House, where all signs of tension that had characterized their earlier meeting in the spring of this year seemed to have disappeared.
