Canonization Ceremony of Blessed Ignatius Maloyan and 6 Other Blessed Individuals Begins in Vatican

Thousands of believers have gathered at St. Peter's Square in Vatican City to witness the historic event—the canonization ceremony of Archbishop Ignatius Maloyan and six other blessed individuals.

Both the Catholicos of All Armenians and the Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia did not attend the ceremony to canonize the Armenian Archbishop Ignatius Maloyan. The Holy See reports that Archbishop Khajak Parsamian is representing Echmiadzin at the event, while Bishop Mesrop Sarkisian has arrived from Antelias to Vatican.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is present at the ceremony. A private meeting is scheduled between Nikol Pashinyan and Pope Leo XIV of Rome.
