Yes, We Can Bring the War to an End: Trump on the Russia-Ukraine Conflict

Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived at the White House for a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump. During an open meeting with Zelensky, the U.S. President stated that Zelensky is "a very strong leader who has gone through a lot of things." In response to a journalist's question about whether Trump believes he can convince Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine, the U.S. President affirmed, "Yes, we can bring the war to an end."

Speaking about a future meeting in Hungary, Trump remarked, "I will likely have a bilateral meeting with Putin, but we will stay in touch with Zelensky." The U.S. President also discussed the agenda for the meeting with Zelensky, stating, "Today we will talk about what I discussed with Putin yesterday. Certain principles have been outlined, and we will see if we can resolve this," adding that he hopes to end the war without resorting to Tomahawks.
