The Investigative Committee Arrests Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan, Taking Him into Custody: Lawyer

The Investigative Committee has arrested Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan, the leader of the Aragatsotn diocese, and he is being taken into custody. This was reported by lawyer Ara Zohrabyan.

He noted that a criminal case has been initiated against the diocese leader, with charges related to hindering or coercing participation in legal gatherings, as well as influencing the results of electoral voting.

It is worth mentioning that Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan is currently in the Central Investigative Division.

Earlier, it was reported that law enforcement officials had raided the diocese's headquarters in Aragatsotn, conducting certain operations there. Several priests and other civilians have been detained.
