Some Released, but Mkrtich Srabazan is Missing: Lawyer

Some of the clergy who were detained have been released, but they have not yet left the Investigative Committee. This was reported to NEWS.am by lawyer Marine Farmanyan.

"We are currently outside the Investigative Department of Yerevan. The Archbishop of Aragatsotn has gone missing. The other priests and deacons were summoned as witnesses. They were detained, but later the investigators issued notifications claiming that some were released, yet they have not exited the building yet. We are waiting for Mkrtich Srabazan. They do not have any restrictions on their freedom at this moment, but they are inside in the capacity of witnesses. Meanwhile, Mkrtich Srabazan is currently missing. The search ended 2.5 hours ago, the investigator came out with Mkrtich Srabazan, and we have not received any further information," she stated.

According to Farmanyan, the search orders concerning the other individuals show that based on an interview given by Father Aram, Daniel Ioannisyan filed a report to investigate whether there was any coercion to participate in the gatherings. The lawyer mentioned that the clergy were detained specifically in relation to this case.
