The leader of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Ulyanovsk has been stripped of his Russian citizenship and is being deported from the country. This was reported by Russian media citing sources close to law enforcement agencies.
According to the source, the decision was made jointly by the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB department in the Ulyanovsk region. The reasons for this decision remain unknown.
The 56-year-old Huseynov has been leading the diaspora since 2005. He is also the president of the regional branch of the "National Congress of Azerbaijan" public organization.
