We Oppose the South Caucasus Becoming a Zone of Sharp Confrontation: Zakharova

The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, has addressed the recent elections in Georgia. She expressed strong concern over the desire of Western countries to interfere in Georgia's domestic politics.

“We reaffirm our targeted orientation towards peaceful, equal, and mutually beneficial cooperation with all countries in the South Caucasus. We are against the region becoming a zone of sharp confrontation. Only extra-regional peacekeepers would be interested in such a scenario,” Zakharova stated.
